FavorPrepâ„¢ Tissue Total RNA Maxi Purification Kit is equivalant to the Qiagen 75162 kits. The Kit is designed for purification of total RNA  from  animal, tissue, animal cultured cells, and bacterial cells using the chaotropic salt-lysis method without the use of hazardous solvents such as phenol.  The purified RNA is suitable for direct use in RT-PCR, Northern blotting, primer extension and cDNA library construction.

Procedure
The method uses detergents and a chaotropic salt to lyse cells and inactivate RNase. The RNA in the chaotropic salt is bound to the glass fibre matrix of column.  After washing off the contaminants, the purified RNA is eluted by RNase-free water.  The entire procedure can be completed about 40~60 minutes.
